Below is the OCWeeky's Halloween 2007 list of Orange County's "Scariest People." Surprisingly, the Sanchez 6 (the six anti-war protesters - myself included - who occupied congresswoman Loretta Sanchez's office via a sit-in until she committed to no more funding for the occupation of Iraq) were ranked #12 out of 31.  I say "surprisingly" because the congresswoman herself was ranked #2 - so why did we make the list at all?!

Below is an article about my arrest at the 2004 Republican National Convention (RNC) in NYC.  Since its publication, I'm happy to report that all charges have been dropped.

Below is an article that reflects upon the 5 year anniversary of the "battle for Seattle" - the WTO protest of 1999.  It argues that to continue voicing opposition to corporate globalization, one must necessarily protest the war against Iraq, not too mention the war on terror.

Below is an article about boycotts of corporate sponsors that contribute to the Kerry and/or Bush campaigns.  It initially appeared on the Bloomberg news wire and has since been picked up by various news outlets. I argued that instead of boycotting corporations that contribute to candidates, how about boycotting candidates that accept contributions?  Unfortunately, this argument was left out of the article.  Instead, my comments on the limits of a corporate boycott as a viable protest remain.

Below is an article by Shantay Iosia of The Daily Titan examining the charge of the ultra-conservative but innocuously named Center for the Study of Popular Culture that college campuses are a bastion for leftist propaganda - as if there's something wrong with progressive thinking.  Given that I teach in a department that produces cops and corrections officers, and given that the ROTC has a permanent home on our campus, I think Center President David Horowitz is a bit ill-informed.  The article founds its way to the center's own website.

Below is an article I wrote for the OCWeekly.  What began as a commissioned book review became more of my personal treatise against the concept of intellectual "property" gone amok.
